Director: Sally Hill MSc
I am a Consultant Sonographer with a special interest in obstetrics and gynaecology.
I trained as a sonographer at Kings College Hospital, London, qualifying in 1987.
I subsequently studied for my MSc in Medical Ultrasound and did my research in Downs’s syndrome screening.
I set up Diagnostic Ultrasound Services in 1996 and was the first sonographer in the UK to set up a community ultrasound service for GP’s.
There are currently six clinics offering ultrasound scans in the community and we have contracts to provide services for Surrey, West Kent and West Sussex.
I was a member of the Ultrasound Advisory Group (UAG) for the Society and College of Radiographers for the last 4 years, representing the independent sector.

I am an experienced sonographer specialising in abdominal, gynaecological, renal, testicular and obstetric ultrasound. I completed my postgraduate ultrasound training through the University of the West of England and have worked across both NHS hospitals and community-based services throughout my career.
I have held the role of Screening Support Sonographer, working within maternity departments to maintain the highest standards of screening and diagnostic imaging. This role involved supporting quality assurance processes, promoting best practice and helping to ensure excellent clinical outcomes for patients.
In addition to my clinical work, I have been actively involved in mentoring and supporting student sonographers. I am passionate about maintaining high standards within the profession and regularly undertake continuing professional development to ensure my practice remains aligned with the latest evidence, national guidelines and technological advances.
Having worked in both hospital and GP surgery settings, I understand the importance of providing a service that is not only clinically excellent but also patient-focused. I am committed to delivering high-quality ultrasound examinations in a professional and welcoming environment, ensuring that every patient receives personalised care, clear communication and the reassurance they need.

I am an experienced sonographer with a commitment to delivering expert, patient-centred care. I began my academic career with a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience from the University of Manchester in 2005, before qualifying as a diagnostic radiographer in 2007 following completion of a post graduate degree at the University of Teesside.
I have worked across major hospital settings in both Newcastle and Sussex, developing specialist expertise in general medical, vascular, gynaecological and obstetric ultrasound.
Alongside this, I undertook further postgraduate training at City University and later expanded my practice through additional specialist training in head and neck and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
My approach is centred on combining clinical expertise with a calm, compassionate and professional experience for every patient. I understand that attending for a scan can sometimes feel uncertain or overwhelming, and I believe it is important that patients feel informed, reassured and supported throughout their appointment.
What I value most about my work is the opportunity to meet people, provide clarity through imaging, and help support the next steps in their care with confidence and sensitivity.
